I like my newest form of entertainment – walk to the bus stop near my abode, board the first bus that comes rollicking along, go right till the last stop and do a rewind of my chosen trajectory. It is a great way to explore the town when it is a cold, desolate afternoon with a slight drizzle and you don’t feel particularly inclined to war with the harsh elements outside.
At the same time, the escapade itself can be quite enlightening – you discover that certain pockets of the town prefer plain white houses with tiled roofs, and it is all brick houses in certain other areas. Some burrows have beautiful bungalows while it is one stacked over the other in some others.
I particularly love looking at the windows of the houses. The glasses on the window pane are not frosted ones but crystal clear and you can see interesting objects on display at the window sills – sometimes a vase or two in a combo with pretty candle sticks, fresh flowers from the garden, potted plants or pretty lampshades. Beautiful, nonetheless!
And then of course, you have nature displaying her beauty in all vanity in the little brooks, hillocks, forests and rolling pastures. The interesting colour in the interaction between nature and we, homo sapiens add to the points of interest.
And all this thanks to the monatskarte (monthly pass) that allows you to travel all over town – as you will, for free!
Haha 🙂 Lizria, the best thing about the Monatskarte I believe is that you tend to forget you once payed for it, so riding seems for free 🙂
Amazed by your discovery as I also love the German twilight-window-soap… Catching glimpses of houses’ inner lives before people close the shutters. Especially when it is cold outside and you can literally feel the warm cosiness just from looking at the interior space… Awesome! Watch an episode for me as well!
Thanks for the comment. Goodto hear about your similar sentiments. 😉 So one episode for you… 😉
